Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA): 2025 Best Workplace for Fathers

When a workplace truly values fatherhood, everything changes.

At The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), dads are given the time, flexibility, and support they need to be there for the moments that matter most – and the results are transforming families, communities, and the workplace itself.

Every father knows those first days with a new baby are priceless.

Moments you never get back. Yet too many dads miss them because of work.

AFCA is changing that.

With 20 weeks of paid leave for all parents, AFCA sends a clear message: fatherhood matters. Time with family isn’t a perk. It’s essential for healthy kids, strong relationships, and thriving communities.

The support doesn’t stop there. Many parents returning from leave choose not to go straight back to full-time work. AFCA encourages open conversations with leaders early on, so flexible arrangements can be shaped to suit both the parent and the role. Agreements are formalised, reviewed, and adjusted if needed. It’s about making work fit life – not the other way around.

AFCA’s Carers’ Network is another lifeline. Run by staff, it offers advice, resources, and a safe space for those balancing work and caregiving. Through its “Parents Roulette” program, new parents are paired with an experienced colleague for regular check-ins and a listening ear. It’s real, human support when it matters most.

For workplace leaders, AFCA’s award as Australia’s Best Workplace for Fathers 2025 is more than recognition. It’s proof that supporting dads is good for families – and good for business. Happier staff. Better retention. Stronger culture.

Setting the Standard: AFCA’s Culture of Support for Working Dads

Children thrive when they have involved, engaged and present fathers. Not all children experience the benefits of having a positive father in their life.

With your generous support, The Fathering Project will continue to help improve the lives of children today and for generations to come.

Your donation provides fathers and father figures, the tools to engage with their children to help them thrive.

Donate to The Fathering Project and become a catalyst for change.

If your workplace champions fathers, now is the time to step forward. Nominate your organisation for the Best Workplace for Fathers award 2026.

Share your story. Inspire others.

Because when dads are supported, families thrive – and so do workplaces.
